Product Description WELCOME TO COLLEGE, GIRLS! You've been waiting for this. Four years of freedom, parties, guys, and new experiences. You're bound to have a blast no matter what, but surviving college won't be easy. Are you ready for it? Don't fret, ladies, this guide will tell you everything you need to know about getting through the best four years of your life. It's got the basics that your mom would want you to know, like how to do your laundry, how to manage your money, and how to survive your classes. But it'll also spill the juice on the things you care about, like how to make your shoebox of a dorm room into your own little castle, how to keep fit and stay healthy, how to throw a great party, and how to deal with guys and sex (two things that for some reason are difficult to handle separately). It's a guide just for you girls, written by a girl who's been there.

Practical and fun guide for girls. October 7, 2003 Dawn (Westerville, oh United States) 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
This book is written for college students by a recent college grad. I wish there were books like this when I went to college! Traci Maynigo covers what girls want to know about surviving college and what they might not know to ask. She covers the basics and more from packing lists, managing your finances, guys, surviving classes, and getting along with your roommates. Also included is pratical advice on dealing with depression, exercising, the party scene, and so much more. It would make a great gift for a any girl on her way to college.
"Girl's Guide" an Incredible Book! October 6, 2003 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Traci Maynigo's "A Girl's Guide to College" is the best book for college women on the market, and one of the best guide's to college life I have ever seen. Maynigo's thorough examination of the college experience is remarkable, as she discusses everything from choosing classes to living with roommates to finding that special someone. She manages to keep a light and entertaining tone throughout without trivializing the importance of making the right decisions in college. But most impressive is her ability to discuss more serious issues like sexual harrassment and rape with an openness and honesty that really sets this book apart from previous "Girl's Guides". I highly recommend Maynigo's book!
Great gift! October 6, 2003 jcg44 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I gave this to my neice as she went off to school, and she loves it. Before I gave it to her I leafed through it, and ended up reading the whole thing! Funny and instructive, engaging and no-nonsense, A Girl's Guide to College is simply a great book.
Great for New College Students May 29, 2007 Seemingly Perpetual Student (Katy, TX) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My daughter is going to college this fall and I bought this book for her. She really liked it and this is what she said:
* Easy to read--like someone talking to you
* Good advice--many things that she had not thought of
* Wide variety of topics
She read it in 3 days while a senior in high school and practicing with her drill team. I.e., she has a busy schedule and it interested her enough that she finished it quickly.
great book November 27, 2003 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This book really hits home. As a recent grad I have to say Traci touched on all the important points of surviving in college. Look up the book if you are about to go to college, or just need an uplifting book for freshwomen trying to survive their first year, good luck girls.
